Another new chapter begins

Two years on...and still falling for you.

It was a day full of sunshine, stormy rain and then sunshine again. Just like how we have been...

IMG_0046.jpg picture by jacezathotmaildotcom IMG_0058-1.jpg picture by jacezathotmaildotcom

And how can we miss out good food on such a special day when we are actually both gluttons in disguise.

IMG_0072.jpg picture by jacezathotmaildotcom

A tantalising tastebud experience at Himawari. We both think it was much better than Hanabi. Especially love the sashimi which was really fresh. The salmon sashimi was actually, creamy! Dearest even said it was melty..like it melts in your mouth instantly.

I have to say I'm really touched by his efforts and gifts even though he always claimed he ain't romantic. I received so many gifts from him. A ring, rose, card, a present plus a great dinner.

Well...We'll keep walking and falling together!

What irks the most

Chest hair is only sexy...
if you have a masculine and well defined body or if u're basically George Clooney.
Armpit hair is only normal...
if you have a penis. Seriously.

I was on board a crowded bus one day and the bus wasn't really stable so this lady beside me stretched out her hand and reach for the metal handle bar which was an arms' length away. I don't know why she just have to rise her hand high up. Just when i turn to her side. I saw HORROR. I almost regurgitate on my empty stomach! It was beyond gross!

Firstly, she has an odor like a construction worker. Secondly, her armpit hair was bushier, thicker and longer than the average guys I have seen. Thirdly, she has a china accent.

This is by far my fifth encounter with china ladies with similar armpit issues. I'm not trying to be bias or discriminating but it's an undeniable fact.

So please, shave it off china ladies.

Tripping in town

My last day of work was supposed to end on Monday. But my sup keeps asking me to stay for one more day and extended my last day till Friday October. I'm looking forward to that day. Just hoping she won't extend it anymore 'cos I need a break. And yes..Still breaking away from Singapore in a few more days..

Met up with clique5 in town yesterday for dinner and saw some celebs at the launch of Cartier shop at ION. Jenny actually wanted to get a hold of their catalogue but couldn't 'cos the launch only allow VIPs in. The event was pretty big such that there are quite a number of decent-looking bell boys hired just to open the door and stand by the entrance.

Why can't the eclispe take place in Singapore and in the daytime?

Defying gravity

It's been tugging at me the past few days. I hate it when people act like they know me damn well and just assumes things of me overt-confidently when the actual fact is, we hardly even hang out together.

Blogging from office

Next Monday will be my last day of work. It's incredibly fast.

To add to that, my school has started after a miserable and pathetic three-week break. And thus, I couldn't understand those who have a three to four-month holiday and are even agonising over how soon their school term is gonna start real soon which is like.. in August? It's unfair.

Still, i have to live with it. Period.

That aside, I've finally booked my trip to Bintan! Like after so long of talking and no actions, I acted. Can't wait! All my bikinis which I bought from VS are finally of some usage value and not for show in my wardrobe anymore.

Back to working, I think i have learned quite a bit even though it's just for a month since I got to handle both AP and AR side of accounts. Practically, everyday creditors will call me to chase for payment and i had to evade them as much as possible and even acting blur or lying so as to delay payment. But, that's what my supervisor taught me. In turn, the AR side is like chasing other people for payment as soon as possible.

Somehow, working is much better than I thought. At least better than lazing at home and stare at the computer continuously for 12 hours a day until my butt grows cellulite. Absolutely gross..

Either way, going to work makes me fatter (i suppose, haven't weigh myself though) for no particular reason. My appetite just grew naturally perhaps due to fatigue. Like whenever there's a break especially lunch time and dinner time, I sought comfort and pleasure in food by binge eating to relax myself after a continuous period of intense work.

Joy...cee!

Met up with joyce dear after her work today. The last time we saw each other was like 10 months ago. Scary..'cos we kinda disappeared out of each other's life for that long!

So I met my first-3-mths best friend at PS for dinner at Ichiban Sushi. It was a joy seeing her!

CIMG1739.jpg picture by jacezathotmaildotcom

After which, Joyce went to Made with Love to get some stuff. We're probably stuck there for like half an hour or more. The things there are so pretty I wish I could own the shop and just commit myself to decorating albums after albums.

And off we went shopping and Joyce bought a top. In constrast, I feel kind of good that I didn't spend on shopping today.

Got a call today and I'm starting work tomorrow. Dread. But the pay is pretty attractive for a temp job. We'll see...

Amasing Loves

Met my classmates over for dinner at Tampines One today. I know it's a little unfair cos Rick has to travel from Jurong east to Tampines.

Decided to have dinner at Manpuku, a similar restaurant-style concept to Marche. The food isn't too bad..think it's the same as Shokudo. But the dessert seems nice, especially their cake-tarts.

CIMG1721.jpg picture by jacezathotmaildotcom

I think Thana looks really okay here and I can't figure out why he keep fussing over his looks. But he's really cute la. Or is it innocent. I have no idea but he just doesn't talk like his age. As a result, he's always kena bullied by us.

CIMG17163.jpg picture by jacezathotmaildotcom  CIMG17162.jpg picture by jacezathotmaildotcom

With the girls and amelia (above). It kind of amazes me that the guys were actually guessing how much our bags cost. And Jo, whose bag looks the most ordinary cost 200 plus!! And that's on sale.

CIMG1724.jpg picture by jacezathotmaildotcom  CIMG1725.jpg picture by jacezathotmaildotcom

Finally, a group photo after half a year! They're really a nice and funny group of people. Have been a joy studying with them the past  6 months and I wonder how it'll be like without them the next sem if i'm really gonna take the night classes.

Turns out, the photos out of my 10-megapixel camera seems fine. But i seriously hate it when i'm using it 'cos all the photos viewed from the camera are so pixeted and grainy that it looks far from reality. I still prefer canon.

Gaga over Korean boys

Slacked the whole of this afternoon before heading to jenny's house and watched boys over flower online. It's actually me who wanted to watch since jenny watched it already. But still, she's very nice to watch with me again.

Throughout the show, she's like crazy over kimbum and my eyes were like fixed on jihou. We watched for like 2 hours before joining her parents for dinner at Bedok 85. Ordered the usual mince meat noodle, fried kway teow, bbq chicken wings and stingray.

     JennysHse.jpg picture by jacezathotmaildotcom

And i'm eating my second dinner since I forgot to tell my mom not to buy dinner for me. Having cai fan now. Seriously, I think i eat alot.

Anyway, jen also introduced to me the korean boy band called 2PM which I didn't know it existed. One of the guys is really cute though. Gonna continue watching Boys over flower now.

Overcoming the nerves

After a mere 5 hours of sleep, I showed up at 2 interviews this morning.

I think I probably have blown my first job away for being sweet and nice. I should have been more confident and assertive in articulating myself and I hate it when I didn't. It's just frustraing that when you know you should do something a certain way and you didn't. Even though the 2 interviewers seem pretty nice, I doubt I scored at it.

I was actually quite surprised that the job for the interview was a long term thing rather than a temporary one which I had intended so it kind of bite at me a little 'cos an interview for a long term job is vastly different from an interview for a short term job. Usually for a temp job, the interviewer would prolly question you on minor stuff and brief you on ur job scope which is unlike an interview for a real job where i'm the one doing most of the talking since the all-time favourite question they'll first ask is.."So Jacelyn, tell us more about yourself."

Gosh, and I hate that question. I can answer anything from my dream job, aspiration to why you choose this company but I just loathe the idea of "praising" myself indirectly. It's like selling a product and the product is apparently myself. A product which has zero credibility until used.

As for the second interview, I rejected it since the position offered is financial advisor (a totally different aspect from accounting).

It's weird that they even called me up for interview. The boss was like saying if i'm seriously interested, he can groom me to be a millionaire business woman. But I know very well that it aint easy and I would go through unbearable hell of at least a decade before I reached the 7-digit mark. Oh I forgot to mention the company was listed as Singapore's Top 47 firm and the boss himself is already a millionaire. He was even featured in newspaper and business times.

So that's the weirdest part why I'm even selected for the interview.

It may sound possible to some people with a clear money-minded vision and a big-enough ambition to achieve that mark but at this point of time, it still seems foreign to me. It's tantamount to me not being able to fly and still wanting to reach for the stars. I just can't imagine at the age of 20, I have to advise people twice or thrice my age about their finance, asset, trust, insurance and loans.

A Night's Affair

I'm feeling really happy after meeting the girls. Like after so long since our SATC outing! Shikin..you are missed! haha

IMG03.jpg picture by jacezathotmaildotcom

We had dinner at far east plaza and kinda celebrated liz's belated birthday. Hope you like your presents my dear!

IMG02.jpg picture by jacezathotmaildotcom IMG01.jpg picture by jacezathotmaildotcom

Anyway, I really don't think I'm as skinny as what you girls said. I still have some meat and volume on me right. Not literally two dimensional.

IMG13.jpg picture by jacezathotmaildotcom IMG09.jpg picture by jacezathotmaildotcom

Niki and I went from posing like a mannequin to "modelling" for Topshop accessories. After some time of shopping around, vette and I went to send liz off and saw her bf. Heh! We look like some die-hard paparazzi trying to check them out and even snapping shots at them but they weren't cooperative so our much efforts went down the drain.

IMG19-1.jpg picture by jacezathotmaildotcom IMG20.jpg picture by jacezathotmaildotcom

Before the both of us parted ways, we decided to go for a drink at Wisma IndoChine and we ordered creamy drinks. I suppose we have a thing on the menu which says cream 'cos we were practically looking out for drinks that has creme content. Babe, thanks for the sharing and chilling we had. We'll meetup soon!

How does it feel to be on air

My last paper ended yesterday but I'm not as thrilled as I expected to be. It just seems that the pace of life has slowed down its motion drastically and I could take a long deep breathe and enjoy the surrounding scenery as I walked home.

Hearing from amelia that it's really hard to get a temp or perm job these days, I sent in my resume last night to various companies and agencies in a bid to secure a temp job for the next 2-3 months. And guess what, I was woken up by a call this morning by an agency for a job offer as an accounts assistant. Turns out, it's either the market isn't that bad or that i'm super lucky. But it's still tentative, I got to negotiate the pay with the company if possible.

I can't believe I'm actually slacking now without feeling a tinge of guilt. It feels strange.

Oh not to mention, I'm gonna go shopping later. Some me-time i suppose.

Going through shit

I just had a 15-hour lecture which ended 2 hours ago. So i'm currently having my proper dinner cum supper while waiting for my hair to dry. It's freaking more than half a day gone, sitting down not listening to the lecturer talk, but going through questions after questions with occasional toilet breaks and 2 meal-breaks which lasted for only 30 minutes. Yeah so lesson practically started from 9am yestersday and ended at 12am today.  I think I've reached a new stage of enlightenment. And 2 days ago, I had a lecture with the same lecturer and he made the class stayed until 12am as well.

I know he meant well but does it really work? I shan't mention his name 'cos I know he's not very well-liked in SIM because of his teaching style. I mean it only works to a certain extent.

Monday is my tax paper and I'm still aint confident about it. Not to mention the next day is my law paper and company law is driving me nuts with its content heavy facts that just wouldn't sink into my head.

It's really hard trying to lock myself away from shopping, going out with friends and all the external temptations for the past 2 months. I seriously cant wait for this whole shit to end. I would rather deal with office politics than having all these pressures weighing on me. I wish I could stand at the edge of the highest cliff and just scream out everything that is contained within me. Or maybe I'll just jump off the cliff and seek real enlightenment.

Anyway, I promise i'm gonna meet you my dear yvette and the rest of the girls. Miss you all! And siok! we'll meetup soon k with tsz shan and kes! And I can't wait for the bintan trip! Anw, jenny, if ur reading this, pls don't bring H1N1 back. I fogot to tell you the other day. LOL!

Ok I'm feeling really really guilty posting this entry now so gotta go.

Swirls in my head

Someone to fool around with
when life gets too serious

Someone to understand
Each little dream in me
Someone to take my hand
And be a team with me

it's the best thing underneath the twinkling stars

Laugh of the week

My tax lecturer:

"Whatever other countries have, Singapore also have," saying it in a proud and confident tone.

"Why did I say that?...See...Sydney has it's own Sydney Operahouse whereas Singapore has got durians (esplanade). Tokyo has got subway, Singapore has MRT. London has it's London eye and Singapore has Singapore Flyer." For a fleeting moment, i was quite proud to be a Singaporean...until...

"So if China has got Great Wall, what does Singapore have?" my lecturer asked.

There was a pause while the class speculated and wondered about the answer.

"Class... China has got Great Wall of China but Singapore has ERP!!!"

Almost immediately, the class burst into unanimous hysterical laughter. No one expected this answer, of all things...ERP! But on second thought, it was pretty true since Singapore has nothing else that was anything closest to the Great Wall.

So i see...i was enlightened by his answer.
